Siargao island

mangroves in del carmenSiargao Island is a tear-drop shaped island in the Philippine Sea located 800 kilometers southeast of Manila in the province of Surigao del Norte.
The coastline is marked by a succession of reefs, small points and white  sandy beaches.
Siargao Island contains the largest mangrove forest reserves in Mindanao, at Del Carmen.
The Island's Pacific-facing reefs are situated on the edge of the Philippine Trench.
Cloud 9 is one of the best known surfing waves on Siargao  island and in the entire Philippines.
This right-breaking reef wave is the site of the annual Siargao Cup where national and international surfers compete during the month of September.
There are several other quality waves on Siargao and nearby islands, but Cloud 9 has received more publicity than any other surf spot in the Philippines.
It is one of the only wave easly accessible from the shore without taking a boat.
You will find 90% of the resort in Siargao around cloud 9 area and General Luna.
